Pineapple Juice Transportation System (Engineering Economy term project)

Hello everyone. I am pleased to share with you the project I led in the Engineering Economy course during the spring term of my second year in Chemical Engineering. In this project, we designed an optimal piping system to transport filtered pineapple juice from a pasteurization unit to a storage tank.

Project Planning and Management

Our project was conducted by a group of 10 members, and I served as the project leader. Initially, I quickly added all members to WhatsApp and Teams groups. Then, I divided the project into three main phases: calculations, component selection, and technical drawing.

Team Formation and Task Distribution

I classified the group members based on their individual skills, knowledge, and experience, forming three subgroups:
1. Calculation Group: Members who are diligent and proficient in calculations.
2. Component Selection Group: More social and research-oriented members.
3. Technical Drawing Group: Members skilled in technical drawing.

Each subgroup had a leader, and I received feedback and coordinated the project through these leaders.

Project Process and My Leadership Experience

1. Calculation Phase: In the first phase, we performed all necessary calculations, and I actively assisted in this stage.
2. Component Selection: In the second phase, we selected suitable components based on our calculations.
3. Technical Drawing: In the final phase, we completed our technical drawings and finalized the project.

Throughout the project, I maintained constant communication with team members, resolved issues, organized meeting times, and closely monitored each phase of the project. My leadership experience enabled me to successfully guide our team and complete the project on time.
